You're very right about the presentation. In the same way you were surprised about DA after playing ME, I was surprised about ME's nice production values after playing DA.

That's the challenging thing about making a good Harvest Moon game. It either moves too slow like this and there's no sense of accomplishment, or it moves too fast like the Rune Factory games did for me and you get burned out too quickly. I still look back at Friends of Mineral Town as the pinnacle of Harvest Moon-ness, I played that game for (in-game) years. The original Harvest Moon and Harvest Moon 64 also handled things pretty well, but were limited in scope in retrospect.

  • Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar   13 years 2 weeks ago

I'm now in the middle of summer, and not a lot has changed. No one's friendship level has gone up, my baby cow is still a baby cow after weeks of nurturing it, and I can only make one item in the windmill (fertilizer) because every other item requires milk or cheese, but my cow won't mature. This game just feels punishing, but like I've mentioned before, I want to last at least for an entire year (in-game) and see any more options open up to make this more fun--or fun to begin with. I mean, at this point, FarmVille was more rewarding. Okay, gotta go water some radishes.

I played this game too, don't even think I lasted a half hour. I've played pretty much every Harvest Moon game and this one just felt crappy. I also don't like how they tried to merge some of the console series' features into this, the graphics in particular. How one is able to see so much more field on the GBA title Friends of Mineral Town is kind of mind boggling. I digress, good luck with the game, maybe you'll like it.

  • Red Steel 2 - Video   13 years 2 weeks ago

Maybe I picked the wrong part of the game to show off, because it is definitely not Mirror's Edge, hah. All that scrambling across roofs and up walls is automatic, context-sensitive, linear stuff. The meat of the game is almost entirely fighting ninja banditos.

My thoughts exactly when watching this too. Really has that feel, but I liked that game so I'm even more interested.

    Mirror's Edge

This video has pretty much convinced me to give this game a go, plus it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a Wii Motion Plus in preparation of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

  • Why I still don't own any current gen consoles   13 years 3 weeks ago

I just love the next gen consoles.

  • Nintendo 3DS: One month later   13 years 3 weeks ago

Favorite is probably Pilotwings, which doesn't really "show off" the 3D effect but benefits the most from it. Hard to explain, I guess what I'm saying is the effect isn't as pronounced as it is in other games, but you actually come to depend on it to gauge distances in the game.

  • Illusion of Gaia   13 years 3 weeks ago

should have been the title. Probably would have sold a lot more copies.

  • Nintendo 3DS: One month later   13 years 3 weeks ago

This was truly informative, the one time I played the 3DS it almost immediately gave me motion sickness, so knowing you experienced similar side effects and are now used to the 3D is great to hear. What's been your favorite 3DS game so far? Best game that shows off the 3D?

  • Roxio Game Capture   13 years 4 weeks ago

You can play with the RGB, Contrast, Brightness, and Saturation during or after capture, but there are no options for pure capture quality that I am aware of. I've been playing around with the saturation and colors to find a less washed-out look, wish I had more experience with this sort of thing.

  • Rayman 3D   13 years 4 weeks ago

Given that Rayman 2 was already a launch game for the DS back in 2004, it seems redundant to have it again on a system that's backwards compatible. On the other hand, the DS version was a travesty, with all kinds of bugs and framerate issues. It's kind of sad that they weren't able to fix all that this time around.

  • Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures   13 years 4 weeks ago

That´s why the System genesis from Sega was my favorite in the Late 80´s and 90´s , because of games like Pac.Man 2.

  • 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors   13 years 4 weeks ago

not one of those who gets offended if people don't like the same games as I, but it can sadden me when people lay off a game before it's true potential shows - especially if the people seems like someone who could get a good experience out of that game.

999 is truly an odd cookie - it does start rather unappealing, but ends as a rather interesting experience that I haven't found anywhere else... but it certainly isn't a game that gives you a good firsthand impression.

  • VVVVVV   13 years 4 weeks ago

I got this as part of a Steam bundle over the holidays, really enjoyed it a lot. The mix of die-and-retry with exploration was unexpected and really fresh. Plus I just loved the neon visuals and pumping chiptune soundtrack.

I didn't know it was originally $15. That's pushing it a bit, though still definitely worth it. At $5, it's a steal.

  • Roxio Game Capture   13 years 5 weeks ago

Yeah, there's definitely a market for this, but that market probably wouldn't want to spend too much unless it's for at least semi-professional purposes. Then again, they did the research, not me. So perhaps it's priced appropriately :P

  • Roxio Game Capture   13 years 5 weeks ago

He may be able to set capture quality to avoid that, I'd think.
