Day Two Recap

The second day of gaming went very well in my opinion. I was able to play a ton of new games I never had before, and I reviewed my first portable games in Hotel Dusk, Mystery Dungeon, The World Ends with You, and Lego Indiana Jones. I also reviewed two games in one hour in my Ninja Gaiden review, that was a lot crazier than I thought it would be. Finally, I played the best first hour I ever played, and the worst.

I think that's my cue to start ranking the last twenty-four games I played in order from best to worst. Even though some games received the same score, the higher rank means I enjoyed that game's first hour more than the ones below it.

*I played two Ninja Gaidens in one hour, so that's actually 49 games total, and 25 this hour.

1. Bioshock (9)
2. Pilotwings 64 (9)
3. Mass Effect (9)
4. Gears of War (8)
5. Tecmo Super Bowl (8)
6. Haunting: Starring Polterguy (8)
7. Homeworld (8)
8. Ninja Gaiden (Xbox - half hour - 8)
9. Lego Indiana Jones (8)
10. Night Trap (7)
11. Pocky & Rocky (7)
12. Ninja Gaiden (NES - half hour - 7)
13. Suikoden II (7)
14. The Lost Vikings (6)
15. Another World (6)
16. Grand Theft Auto 2 (6)
17. Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams (6)
18. The World Ends with You (6)
19. Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer (6)
20. Bible Adventures (5)
21. Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen (5)
22. The Lion King (4)
23. Hotel Dusk: Room 215 (4)
24. Turok: Dinosaur Hunter (3)
25. Star Ocean: The Second Story (1)

Bioshock was the best first hour I played, and Star Ocean 2 was the worst (by far). Once again, this is only my review on the first hour of each game, not the entire presentation. And yes, the first hour of Pilotwings 64 is that fun.

The average score has fallen from 6.8 to 6.44 with six games at average or below. But don't worry too much about the scores themselves, my written word is far more important than the number I finally assign to them.

Day three will start real soon, and I'll kick it off with a huge bang. See you in a bit!
