Mobile Minute: Pudding Monsters, TNNS, Extreme Road Trip 2

Yes, yes, this site still functions. I apologize for not writing anything in... a long time, but I'm actually playing games! Loving Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny on the PS3 and just picked up a 3DS with Super Mario 3D Land, Harvest Moon: A New Beginning, and Fire Emblem: Awakening! With all the great games coming down the pipe from Nintendo and third party developers, I figured I had better get on the 3DS train sooner than later.

In the meantime, here are some more thoughts on Android and iOS games I've been playing lately.

Pudding Monsters

The creators of Cut the Rope released Pudding Monsters a few months ago, and fails at both delivering the charm and fun I got out of their original game. The point is to move these pudding blobs around on a grid, trying to force clumps together using a variety of different types of pudding, but it’s just kind of dull. While I could happily toss Om-nom around for hours in Cut the Rope, I can only stand about 10 minutes of whatever these pudding monsters are at a time.

TNNS

It’s basically Breakout with neon Tokyo colors and a sense that I must really suck at Breakout games now. You can twist the ball mid-air (well, I would be able to do this if the game properly explained how...), generate multi-balls, and collect stars to buy stuff. I can’t honestly say I recommend TNNS, but it certainly is an experience.

Extreme Road Trip 2

I put far, far, far too much time into Extreme Road Trip 2 the past few months, as in 14 hours of semi-mindless flipping of classic cars in the desert and outer space, but it is so much fun. Get some speed, launch yourself into the stratosphere and see how many times you can rotate your car. Go get this game to fill the void of five minutes here or there with some sometimes incredible fun.
